Previous Events

Community Family Event:

Savannah Heights hosted a successful Community Family Day on Saturday June 10. The event took place at the Savannah Heights community and many residents and vendors enjoyed this great event.

Several partners contributed to the event such as Trusted Health Plan for the food, playful activities, and music; Southeast Tennis and Learning Center helped us to organize various activities for children such as tennis, performing arts, and fashion.

All of our partners joyfully participated in the event. Trusted Health Plan could give healthcare information to the residents and the YMCA provided information about several sports programs for children as well.

Camp Fire organization also hosted outdoor Carnival games and offered several gifts, prizes for children, food, and drinks. They also provided information to our residents about upcoming summer camps.
Camp Fire contributed in so many ways to make this event such a success at Savannah Heights. Thanks again to our partners and we look forward to the next event!

Community Family Day

Monthly Birthday Party:

In the lobby on the last Friday of the month. About 25 residents attended each of two events one in September and one in October. Cupcakes and fruit were served by management.

Resident Appreciation Day (“the Best Ever”):

On September 10, Lucinda and staff did a great job with the Best Ever Resident Appreciation Day. We had 125 grateful residents attend. They enjoyed expertly grilled mouthwatering foods including steak, hamburgers, unique delicious hot dogs, and fabulous turkey burgers. We had Lezzo the Clown doing face painting (the kids wouldn’t leave him alone) and balloon toys; a moon bounce, basketball toss; a very popular caricature artist; a DJ; a beautiful cake, snow cones, popcorn, fruit salad, chips, drinks, and more! Camp Fire had about ten volunteers there, mostly teens, helping with the snow cones, popcorn, moon bounce, and providing information about upcoming Camp Fire programs. Everyone had a great time.

The Summer Food Service Program:

Continued for the first two weeks in August, serving free lunches to about 20 resident kids a day.
